I believe those are from HG 1/144, they can move but not open/close; the ones that do are from 1/100.

Oh, and I like the gradient on those blue parts (impossible for me since I can only do solid colors with spray paint).
Thanks Zero, gotta stick with the MG wings for Charlotte then. Want to get a Wing Zero without the pearl finish so I can get the white to more match her and have all the feathers again.

To answer both of you, I actually use spray can to color it. Those gradient result was more like accidental because of lack of experience. To be truthful, this is the 1st time I paint using spray can, but thank you very much for liking it.

And yes, those are from 1/144. While I also tempted to get 1/100, but they are too expensive. Maybe later once I have the money or if I found someone willing to sell their 1/100 Wing Zero for cheap.

I think the gradient is due to too much paint, it'll remain liquid for a while and the excess will form a bag at the bottom edges, resulting in a thicker layer, making it darker.

Yeah, that's a problem with paint in general, I have to watch out for that when I'm trying to get a nice thick coat on in one shot. Especially with white. *growl*

I used to do that and I found that you can't really do it if you have liquid paint flowing off the edges (and turning all edges into lighter-colored lines). So I made the paint (acrylic) less liquid by thinning it with Future instead of thinner or water. The result was honey-like consistency that covered the area and didn't flow much. The trick to achieving a smooth airbrush-like coat is to keep a continuous liquid layer of paint across the whole area and then letting the whole thing dry. Good for small to medium-sized areas unless you use drying retarder. You will still want to dry your part as horizontally as you can so that your paint doesn't follow gravity.

These are foot parts of my Type00R that were painted in one coat using this method:

Thank you very much for all the repainting advice. But unfortunately, Acrylic and Airbrush are out of option for me, so I can only do Can spray one.

Still, new knowledge is never gone wasted. Thanks.

I'm not one to talk much about painting since I don't have much experience, but I do know that it's best to make several thin layers instead of few thick ones. Spray, let it dry, spray again.

I think like Shiroran, this problem is happen when
1. when you spray, the spray can and plamo is too close. The range between spray can and plamo should be at least 1ft.
2. spray concentrate at 1 point too long. you need to spray little by little like in how to build sword calamity clip.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyETJOBxJTE‎

3. color is still wet and you spray on it. my trick is spray 1st piece 3 time then spray other 3-4 pieces (3time per piece) after that spray the 1st piece again and loop until finish.

4. your spray head is wide range. You can buy tamiya spray can, when the can empty, you can keep its head to change with other spray can. Tamiya or others spray can for model have narrow spray head than normal one.

if you want to make nice gradient, spray can isn't the choice, you need airbrush.

Thank you for all your post.

But unfortunately, my paint option is limited since most of what you have advised are far away from my place and most supplier refuse to send it to my place.

But never the less thanks for all the advice on paint and technique, I'll try again once I have the time.

And for everyone's advice, as a thanks I give you this pic
