Storm Wing wrote:*noticed the Vehicon with 2 horizontal visor* Hey isn't that the Vehicon that was brutally interrogated by Ratchet? :P Awesome!
Actually, no. The Vehicon heads are actually part of fakebuster83's D.R.E.A.D. project. They're supposed to be the Prime versions of the Dreads from DOTM...but yeah, I can see the resemblance to that Vehicon that Ratchet interrogated. To be honest, I was wondering why Chet (the one with the dual visor) looked familiar...

My Beast Hunters has arrived
Image
SoundWave is a true disappointment! The paint job is a mess around his arm & leg. If it's not for Wavage, err, Ravage, i wouldn't buy him. (But turns out this SoundWave & BumbleBee is out of quality control, which explains why the paint apps is crap-tastic).

As for Bee, he becomes a real badass, aside from his crappy paint job. & SmokeScreen? Don't ask my how happy am i to get this SHOW ACCURATE version! However, his "armor" is made of rubber (for safety reason, i know) & kinda lame ^^;; Just a trivia, if you buy 3 SmokeScreen, one missile goes to his weapon & the other 2 goes to the clip of his armor. & his net can COMBINE into somekind of "web".

Anyone else got these figures yet? ^_^

I got Smokescreen yesterday and am not as thrilled as some are. The paint is terrible, the light piping is not blue?? And the shoulder joints are just stupid. Not trying to dis on a figure, but i kinda want to pick up Takara's Knockout knockoff just for the head. My son was so looking forward to him, it kinda broke my heart when he lost interest in the figure after about 10 minutes. I cant pose him withought something coming unpegged or popping off a balljoint or hinge. It was nice he got his own toy, but hasbro has some idiots i. the design department. I know the cant have figures "Perfect", but when a 5 yr old is pointing out HUGE color flaws on the figure, you have a design issue...lol. Hopefully Reprolabels will come out with a fix. in the meantime, Im looking to find a takara knockscreen to poach parts from...

P.S..... Sorry if it seemed like a rant. I do like Smokescreen, it just needs work..

I knew it that there will be complaints like this ^^;; Yes, the shoulder joints is a flaw. I am disappointed by that, too. Also, his paint apps is NOT accurate.

Which reminds me... I took a quick check on the next Beast Hunters figures, & it seems that Prowl is on the way. It's a big possibility that he will be a redeco/retool of Smoke, but that's another story...

Btw, KnockOut is now a fabulous lizard in beast Hunters toyline XDDDDDDD

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like one of THOSE transformer fans..lol. I was just hoping for more. He's not so bad, It just takes some warming up to. He reminds me a LOT of how fiddly the DOTM Sideswipe delux figure was in the shoulders..

Also, Ill shoot some pics later of a way I made his arms look a LITTLE better and more accurate to the show.

Again, sorry to have complained.. I just really don't understand why Hasbro goes out of their way sometimes to make a figure intentionally wrong. (btw, honestly, my biggest gripe is the yellow light piping. Makes him look like a crafty bad guy IMHO. But everything else I've gotten used to.)

Why you apologizing to me? ^^;; Hasbro is the one who should APOLOGIZE to you, & all of TF fans! Why? Here's why:
Apparently, the price of Transformers has crept up a bit, because of the manual instruction sheet. Instead of a small manual sheet, they make it big just for the "useless" short paragraph of The Tales of Beast Hunters. Which means you must buy ALL of the figures for it (however, you can just access TFWiki for that :P LOLs)

I will say this... My son wanted a ninja turtle toy today. That box for a "basic" figure weighed almost twice what a deluxe transformer does. WAY more plastic.. For only two thirds the price...

Hasbro is just taking advantage if you ask me when they blame the price of plastic or print...

But are you taking in mind the engineering costs way more on a complex, transforming robot than it does on a simple, not-very-articulated action figure?

There are more complex articulated figures out there that don't use plastic cost as an excuse. Hasbro gives us smaller and smaller toys, most just re-using familiar molds..(ie, less engineering costs) and then have no excuse as to why they paint stuff completely wrong? There is more here than meets the eye, no pun intended. I love Transformers, but I won't give them a free pass on the drop in quality vs price hike.

The Turtles I mentioned were mentioned for a reason. They all have unique sculpts and color molds for each very similar main character, which was a FAR cry from the originals, but for what you get, it didn't cost more (for the consumer) in comparison. Back in the late 80's, the only difference mainly between the turtles was mask color,.. now they have taken the time to (for the most part) ACCURATELY portray differences in the characters on screen appearance in the toys. Did they make them ridiculously expensive as some other action figures with similar articulation and design, say Marvel figures? No. The engineering cost was more for these Turtles than the previous, as were I'm sure the cost of using several minor different shades of a similar color. It's the attention to detail that impresses me.

Hasbro could have made a much simpler cheaper version of Smokescreen that was at least painted right. Instead they used TF Movie style transformer guts and a haphazardly painted exterior to "make people happy" as one person was quoted within the company. (I will try to link the quote). It should have ALWAYS been the goal to make toys that fans of the show based on the toys would enjoy from the first place.

It's just my opinion though. I still love transformers, and will still buy them. I'm just not impressed when the use excuses to put out a lackluster figure. Sorry if I ranted too much. :D
