After another week of bad weather, finally some updates. (pics also used for Shinki Saturdays)

Noir trying out my Trans-Am Susanowoo's arms.

No pernament mods necessary  . The Susanowoo's round ball polycap (inside the upper arm) fits (albeit kinda loosely) on a shinki's arm peg. This way, I can easily return the arms to their owner whenever I want. The legs are a different story as modding is needed. But I'm not planning on doing that right now.

Rina has new leg armor courtesy of Noir.

Now, the fencer sisters match!

If you may notice, I kinda tweaked the skirt configuration a bit. The skirt parts get in the way of most of my action poses, so this way, they still look cool without hindering posability.

Noir is waiting for me to get a 1/144 HG 00 qan[t] for custom armor parts. I'm interested on the GN Shield and Sword Bits, and so is she. :P

Next up, Ayu's completed custom armor!

Now, I don't have to worry about her flying around with only her undies.

The paint job on her leg armor didn't go as planned... the spray paint I used (florescent pink, different brand than the one I use) didn't adhere to the primer too well, so I ended up stripping it off then repainting it. Easily solved with another pair of 1/144 Stargazer legs, but not in the near future unfortunately...

Here are a couple of light show shots. :headbang:

Wow Ayu looks awesome!
Yeah paint on the legs looks a bit tuberous to me. What paint did you use?
Also, you can consider it how advice - do the silver chrome with gloss coat on the legs where gold stickers of stargazer supposed to go. This way Ayu will look even more bad ass with lights on))

I use Bosny acrylic epoxy spray paint (don't have an airbrush, and Tamiya spray paint cans are not available in the provinces), the one I always use. I kinda thought about using another brand but it backfired on me...

Also, the chrome paint advice is cool! All I need now is another HG Stargazer to murder... :P

Thanks for the info, but I can readily buy another Stargazer anytime locally (gunpla are very common here, even in the provinces), but I have to save for other priorities first... :P

====================================================================================================================================================

If you may recall, Noir is waiting for the 00 qan[t] parts that I'm going to mod for her. Both of us got bored last night, so here's what resulted after a couple of hours of tinkering...

Image
I've had that HG 1/144 Ex-S Gundam for a while... always thought of modding it for a shinki. It was a brick, IMO... articulation is very limited, especially around the knee joint. But it was a VERY awesome-looking brick. :P

Image

Image
The arms and shoulders have no permanent mods. The backpack boosters are easily connected to the original Strarf back piece (that supports the mecha arms). I did do some cutting away on the back of the lower legs to improve articulation, and used my spare Nu Gundam's thigh parts instead of the ones that came with Ex-S.

Though she looks cool, Noir thinks she's a little too heavily-armored for her taste, but this'll have to do for now. Hey, I can return Ex-S as it is, or reserve it for when another shinki arrives in the near future... who knows?

Would you mind posting a short tutorial explaining how to adapt Gunpla parts to Shinki? I thought maybe they were just simply compatible, but they're not :/

Not all gunpla are compatible with shinki as custom armor sources, but some you can make work for you, it's all about having a lot of parts and pieces to choose from, and mixing and matching them until you get the look you want.

I did a simple tutorial on page 8 of this thread involving HG 1/144 Gundam 00 parts for Noir. I just repeat the basic steps for different gunpla parts, depending on the mod I want to make. I also have a little more complicated mod mini-tutorial on leg parts that you connect to the shinki's shins or lower legs (Astray Ble Frame legs, to be exact) somewhere on this thread, but I'm a bit lazy to look for the page. :P I should be able to make a proper tutorial when I get replacement gunpla parts for Ayu (Stargazer) and Noir (Gundam 00 Seven Sword/G or 00 qan[t]), complete with pics... hopefully within the month (if finances allows for it :P ).

Thanks.
I thought I had skimmed through the whole thread, but I just noticed that this is a different one from the one I did XD

I've had Noir for the longest time now, and sadly, the paint on her mms body is chipping due to being played with a lot and trying out a lot of custom armor concepts  . So, I thought of repainting her mms body.

Image

Here, she's wearing Laika's GN-X legs and Gundam Ex-S' vernier packs. I used Bosny Flat Black spray paint on her entire body, including part of her neck. I'm still thinking up of a design for detailing, probably a design similar to Tron.

Laika also had a makeover...

Image

Again, Bosny Flat Black (I just love this color :P ), and I'm getting another spray can of Army Green (similar to the original green lining on her body) for her detailing.
