Wave 16- Oorbellen and Zielbellen

Re: Shinki Wave? Oorbellen
As cute as the repaints are, they're definitely off my 'want' list. Dengeki Hobby Exclusives are a pain to get, and I don't want to bother the guy I get my magazine-only Pinky:St figures from for these.

i know not the whole line, that would be treason, but still, barbie-ish? the proportions are to different, and barbie wants love and hugs not decapition by sword to all who oppose herPyaamon wrote:Barbie-ish - single 'doll/item/character' plus very minimal accessories. Also the ballerina style design, regardless of weapons.
We're not talking the whole shinki line here, Star, just these two.

Re: Shinki Wave? Oorbellen
I apologize for the rudeness of my reply.
The STYLE OF THE SHINKI - that's ballerina, which is a classic doll design and the CONTENTS OF BOX - one doll, minimal amount of accessories.
This has nothing to do with proportion, or the ideas following the Barbie - or ANY doll line, or the weapons of the shinki. It is the idea of this line - black and white, ballerina motif similar to Swan Lake that reminds me of Barbies, Sindys, Liccas, insert doll brand here, I'm fairly sure all of them have had a ballerina in them somewhere whereas Howling, Maochao, for example were just the shinki (or doll) that had no theme, just themselves and a different set of shoes and hands and a tail.
I'll repeat it again, Star:
STYLE OF SHINKI.
CONTENTS OF BOX.
I'm going to leave this thread now.

Re: Shinki Wave? Oorbellen
Even this doll?
Edit: Are you kidding me? Maochao and Howling have a very clear theme! Maochao has cat faces all over her armor, cat ears and paws, a cat tail, a bunch of tiny little kitten tank robots, her Research nail weapon which was clearly a pair of cat's claws, her shield that vaguely resembled a cat's face, even her color scheme was like that of a cat! Howling has, once again, ears, paws, little tank robots and tail (Although the tank robots for Howling make me think more of Foxes.) and her name is a CLEAR indication of the theme. She also has two weapons you almost never see based on dog collars, and two based on old police weapons (And dogs can be associated with the police, although it is a bit of a stretch.) and although she doesn't have little doggy faces all over or a dog color scheme, her head armor has a freaking DOG NOSE. How do they not have a clear theme? Although I will concede that those two are a bitch to pose with their armor on (No pun intended.)
Edit again: And I think Howling's dog robots are loosely based on a japanese myth, partially due to their colors and the fact that the character on each is a number from one through five. Although there should be nine of them I think in that case instead of five (One is stored on her back, same with maochao.) Anybody who has played Okami will probably know what I mean.

Re: Shinki Wave? Oorbellen
I said I wasn't coming back into this! Gah!
Dog and a cat yes, and if you want to push this further, ferret and squirrel, yes, animal themes. But they ain't ballerinas. I see no dresses on them, except a bow on the tail of Maochao. And that's what I'm getting at.
Despite it being a sketch and then a custom design before the company decided to pick them up for real, they're very unusual for the busou shinki line in that they are just...that. Stately princess/ballerinas. I found this curious. Yes, they have a shield and a sword, but it's so far removed from what we've had in the past and so very much like a western-based doll with their crowns and their skirts. The shield and sword are the only things that pull them back to the shinki line. Despite being semi-excited about an eventual release, I'm still wondering why the detour.

Considering they had a nurse and sister type light armor, these are well in line with past iterations. Maybe light armor isn't your cup of tea. I know they usually aren't for me, but I don't see how Konami is going into unexplored territory here.

Re: Shinki Wave? Oorbellen
I'd have pointed to Schmetterling as a previous example.
These are a bit more mecha-ish then her, at least.

Re: Shinki Wave? Oorbellen
hmm, lets first agree to dissagree, lets end this arguement before it reaches 2 pages, ok? i dont see much of your piont but you do and you have the right to your own oppinion which i cannot change, i like these 2 and if you dont, then why bother to keep up with them? i dont see ballerinas here, more like princesses in short skirts, open tops, and with swords and sheilds

Re: Shinki Wave? Oorbellen
Sorry, I thought you were saying Maochao and Howling didn't have an obvious theme. And, personally, I never thought of Partio as a ferret. She always seemed more of a cat to me. Her fishbone accessory does not help in that department.
