I can confirm the tall/short distribution on this pair. Raptias is tall whilst Artille is short.

It seems that we're mostly getting one of each in new full waves, now...

So, Artille is about the same height as Pomock and Partio? If so, then there's a spot for her right inbetween my Shinki Twins in my collection, as if she wasn't going to stand out enough.

well, the smaller body is less plastice so its cheaper to make and she can be sold for the same price as her tall sister so why would konami stop? its greedy of them an upsetting but its probably true so i think we should just get used to it

You do realise that a few grams of plastic is a trivial amount of money, right? Hell, the full value of all the plastic in a full Shinki is probably only about 5$.

What you're paying for (besides markup, and really, everyone deserves to make an income) is the cost of designing the look, designing the parts, designing the mold, building the mold - that's probably 50- 75% of the cost right there, molds are expensive - and developing the computer models and game code. And don't forget, the inserts need molds too. Plus shipping at various levels. Taking 50 cents worth of plastic out of the box isn't changing the margin enough to matter.

50 cents adds up after 5 or 6, thats about $3 already, with the large amount they sell, they must save about $1000

Indeed... but there's what? Four or five shinkis using the small body right now? So if everyone buys two of those (and I doubt Konami's pricing model accounts for people buying doubles), and gets overcharged 50 cents on each, they've overpaid a whopping 5$.

That's about 40 minutes wages at minimum wage. About 15 minutes wages for an entry-level professional. Less than the cost of a hamburger and fires most places. Spread over 10 toys. It's not gouging, and no matter how much you want to grumble about the big bad toy company, it never will be.

Konami may or may not be making a hefty margin on these toys; I have no data on their cost to produce. But the little bit of plastic the Small bodies saves does not in any way warrant a price reduction.

Yeah, we're only really starting to see mainstream Shinkis after that weird lull in releases/announcements some time ago before Altrines finally got out. Plus, since she's a "cat", Artille being the small one might be part of the whole design asthetic. Also, both Arnval and Starf Mk. II were MMS 3rd "tall" bodies even though they were part of that game bundle, and they were certifiably enough to constitute a full wave of full armors.

hmm, well i guess its also just konami useing the short mms 3rds because their new and people like lolis, im not sure how it all works, but if i just made something new, id love to use it as much as possible

Funny thing with Artille. While she's on a Small body, she's not intended to be a loli; just short. She's got a significant degree of boobage. =x
