Wave 11 Repaints - Altrene Viola + Altine Rossa

I know they're popular and guaranteed to print money, but c'mon! At least give the standard white and black versions second runs before you go off and make new color schemes!

Actually, I MUCH rather new color schemes.

We've gotten too many of the palette swaps and black repaints as specials. Here, have a list:

Primarily Black Repaints:

Given Altrene and Altines are already essentially inversions of each other (Blonde vs Brunette-sorta, Long hair vs short, MMS tall vs MMS small, white vs black, red vs blue) a reversal would be a difficult sell since it'd just be Altines in Altrene's armor, and vice versa.

And I don't think we can expect these anytime soon. Remember when we first saw the prototypes of Altrene? Remember how quickly she cam out after that? Oh, wait, what's that? You DON'T remember that part?

Yeah. Konami can be positively glacial about releases. I expect we'll all be screaming for them to just release these already long before these ones hit the market. In other words, don't put these on your 2010 Christmas wish list. Maybe not even Xmas 2011.

I'm glad I already have Altlene and Altines because really, ew. I don't like either of these all that much. I'll wait for more photos on Altlene's repaint, but I know the Altines is a no-go for me.

Believe me, I know there's more than enough black and white out there; my shelves are full of 'em. And there's even more to come with the totally not Arnval (really, we promise!) and her sister as identical light armors. All I'm saying is give the late comers a second shot at the original color schemes before making palette swaps. So far I haven't heard of a second printing of the standard versions. Even the regular release of Altlene is tough to get a hold of without a proxy. ...or eBay rape prices, I suppose...

And again, the dark blue and gold coupled with the silver hair and green eyes? Hot. Very hot. I'm not saying I don't like the colors (OK, I don't like red Altines so much... maybe it's the lighting...), but we're approaching Transformers Seeker levels of repaint with a mold that's difficult to find as it is. I guess it doesn't help that the armor itself doesn't change between figures and Altines is already essentially a palette swap of Altlene.

I prefer the original Altines much more than this repaint. The Altlene isn't too bad here, but now if you have the original Altines, there's no choice but to have the original Altlene to go with her!
