Notes:

This has been a hard chapter, for me to make, and for you all to read, and I'm sorry.

I could have done all this much quicker, and given this is a silly little comic about TOYS, that might have made more sense. But I didn't feel right just killing off so many without giving those that were going a chance to shine. That's what made it hard for me... those that I was killing off were characters to me... with backstories and personalities and potential.

For you guys it was probably painful because it DRAGGED, and I was relentless about giving glimmers of hope, and then crushing them down.

I never got to show what the Decepticons did during the Great Move, so this was my chance to show that, as they did it again to a new batch of toys. I wanted to also establish them as a credible threat, and that the Autobots of the house aren't careful just through cowardice, but that these guys are serious bad news.

I'm sure some people have tuned out during all this, so now I've got to work to get them back. For those who slogged through... thank you. I will make it worth the trouble. I don't want to reveal too much, but I will say two things: The story of those from the crate is NOT finished yet, and the relentless Grimdark is done as well. I won't say there won't be Grimdark moments, but it'll never be so crushing and hopeless as it was here.

I will also say that all of this has a purpose beyond just upping my kill count.

As you may have noticed... I didn't show what happened to my Neo-Wreckers, other than Ratchet, did I? Don't worry, all will be revealed in the next chapter.

How dare you, Polenicus. How dare you apologize for expressing yourself. How dare you apologize for making a "silly photocomic" come to life. How dare you apologize for making your characters, your toys, seem real. How dare you apologize for going the extra mile to give us a back story, to psycho-analyze each character's flaws and bring them to light, to make us forget that we're dealing with the otherwise stereotypical "toys alive in Master's house/room" setting.

The reason, I think, that most people read "Warring at Play" is because of the things you apologized for. Your writing, especially for this completely non-profit project, is nothing short of superb. I laugh at the jokes, hold back manly tears for deaths and such (Saber's knighting of Sir Barricade and Sir Frenzy choked me up), and shout **** YEAH! at those epic fight scenes. You, my good sir, have no reason or right to apologize for anything in this comic. This is your story, and you should tell it however it suits you. I, for one, will be along for the ride as long as you make it available. Please, keep it up. You don't have the "flaming post" icon here on BSW for nothing, you know...

I am with you Hylian Pirate. This photo comic is very well done. well written and a PAIN with the photoshop I bet. I didn't mind the slow down of the action so those worth mentioning do get their honors. (Can't word it right)

The whole "Strarf fighting Strarf bis" thing kinda makes me sad. I was hoping to see the bis and Tranche 2 armors as upgrades for their respective characters... maybe it could still happen...? But more importantly, I see Avalon and Exucalibaa. If you make them work like they do in F/SN, then Saber just became the most overpowered character in WaP. Of course, there'll probably be some penalty, like draining of energy/mana/whatever... Just don't do any "mana transfer" scenes, OK?
