Which one did you purchased? The Robot In Disguise version or First Edition version? Imho, FE is show accurate, awesome blade (made of rubbber, meh...), & whoa! BFG!!

On the other hand, RiD are "less fun". Smaller size, back kibble, ridiculous gun, & shorter blade (which, surprisingly, is a SMALLER size of the Star Saber! Dag nabbit, Hasbro!). Imho anyways ^^;;

I got a RiD... it was cheap and at a local store.. Good to know it's smaller in size than the First Edition ones..

I have no issue with making an official TF thread if you want.

I actually find it highly amusing as BSW is originally a branch off from a Transformers forum.

Current collection. I kept with prime theme for now, but I'm itching for a decent Megatron, and IMHO, the prime voyager toy is not that. I've eyeballed the classics voyager (cant remember the variant, but it's the more silver version, not the lime green and purple..) megatron and it seems tempting.

I'm pretty disappointed with the scale of most of the deluxe figures I've purchased so far, and wish they were just a bit taller. Like I mentioned previously, they look like per-pubescent children compared to an mms 1st shinki,.. and that's pretty much all I've got for right now. I'm gonna be getting the apparently infinately better FE Optimus as soon as I can, or I will start thinking much bigger for my transformers... IE, masterpiece (for myself obviously) and sticking to JUST voyager-leader class toys..

Anyways, thought I would share..

Yes, i agree with you. Recent figures are getting smaller & smaller (production cost my @$$, Hasbro is a huge money wanker!). & it's a good decision for you to get the FE Optimus Prime of TFPrime. Btw...

Nice collection. (Mine says hi back..RID Optimus went and pouted when he read I didn't think he was "good enough" )

I have a request though.. is there any way you could shoot me some pics of some of your larger transformers with a shinki for size comparison? I mean, I keep seeing all these awesome figures I want, and then they look like children next to shinkis.. and then it's kinda hard to plan out a photo comic (I should've just started with alternators, but those are kinda hard to transform for my kid, and he would be sad if they were totally off limits.) where you take the characters seriously. I'm really disappointed that they didn't make a voyager FOC Shockwave,.. I mean, he's a big dude in the game, but his toy is puny. Same with Prime Soundwave Deluxe. It totally should be a voyager, just for height considerations, I mean, his character is no taller than the hideous Airachnid toy, but towers several feet over her in the show.

Maybe they will come out with a Prime Shockwave Voyager since he debuted in one of the last episodes of last season, and is in the trailer for season 3. He's a BIG dude too, so anything less than a voyager will be stupid sauce.(I'm holding my breath for a decent gun too, none of this blinky bulky spring loaded BS.)

But, as for right now, I'm planning on picking up for SURE FOC Voyager SOundwave, and Voyager Grimlock...possibly Blaster (even though he just shares the sculpt with SOundwave with a different head and color scheme.) But I'm REALLY wanting to find a good Megatron, and decide whether to use Animated, Classic, or Prime FE Starscream.. They all have their equal charm you know.. I just need to get some GOOD BELIEVABLE baddies for my collection.

Any input from seasoned TF brethren would be helpful..

isnt scale more or less a dirty word when it comes to transformers?
It's more like a mythical creature from the lore of forgotten ages past which hails from a land that is spoken of in legend. Some swear that they have seen it, a flickering shadow that disappears when focused on. Others have not not seen it, yet ardently believe it must exist despite the seemingly endless search.

Most have stopped believing in it, if they ever did at all. They shake their heads and call it a figment, a flight of fancy that entertains children and nothing more. Yet even as they speak the words, one who looks into their eyes will often see the faint ember of hope that maybe such magic is real after all.

I'm not new to it, I'm just new to anything post G1. I still kick myself for getting rid of my original Optimus prime, with all his metal goodness.

I know around Transformers collectors scale is a "bad" word, but for what I'm looking for, it's kind of different. I'm not expecting Starscream to tower over Optimus Prime because an F15 is HUGE compared to a semi-truck, or for Megatron and Soundwave to quit defying the laws of physics in the cartoons...lol.

I just need height comparisons of the robot modes of some characters. SO I guess "scale" might be the wrong word..lol.

BTW, I totally laughed my butt off at the quote.

Thanks for the Bumblebee + Juvisy photos, MrHolister, I was about to purchase an Art Feather Bumblebee because I've always wanted my favourite character in the only form I recognise as being true, but no way a gashapon-sized figure is worth $60

I wish someone made a 1/12 Beetle Bumblebee :/

No problem!. My son doesn't understand why I am reluctant to get a "Prime" version of Bumblebee... I'll cave eventually, because this is "his" generation of Bumblebee, ..but it will just mean the one I have now will just hang out with the "expensive Transformers and Shinkis".. I can think of a worse life for Bumblebee than to spend his days surrounded by nicely sculpted, highly articulate toy women..

And on the 1/12... wouldn't that actually be HUGE? (I know what you meant btw..lol) But that would be like a PowerWheels size car mode about..
