Re: New Member Introductions
Hello everybody! Greetings from Germany.
I discovered Shinkis back in 2007 on a certain well known image board, and have been fascinated with them ever since. However, for the longest time, I tried really hard to resist the urge to actually go out and get one for myself, because I was busy collecting Transformers, and I realised that once I'd start down the Shinki path, things could get expensive real quick.
In the end it was the anime that drove me over the edge, and thanks to Mandarake I'm now the proud owner of a Proxima Spinel and a Strarf Lavina, both of which I nabbed for a rather reasonable price.
Oddly enough, though, my prediction didn't come true. I'm perfectly happy with the two I've got and don't feel the need to buy any more.
Maybe the collector in me is getting old. Heh.
Anyway, I think I'm gonna try my hand at making some photo comics now. K'bye!

Re: New Member Introductions
Hello, everyone, nice to be here. Going by Mobius on this forum, though I also go by 'Gundam Pharmacist' or 'Mobiusdiablo' on other places.
Like Ren above me, I got into Busou Shinki late, which is a shame. I'm a builder of models, usually of the Gundam Master Grade line, so I traditionally don't pick up figures. However, this anime season changed that. I saw this show called Busou Shinki, which was the only one listed at the time as a mecha show. I looked at it, shrugged, and decided that I'd wait to see if I wanted to pick the show up.
Then Moon Angel happened.
Found a english subbed version on Youtube, watched through all of it, and it hit just the right chords of cool and cute. At that point in time, I decided that I wanted to go whole-hog into Shinki. Looking around, I found this site, but decided not to join at first since I wanted to have a Shinki of my own.
And about a week ago, I found an Arnval on Amazon, brand new box, for around sixty dollars. Compared to how expensive the others were, and seeing Kaguya and Ann in the animated works, I went and snatched the last one up that was at that price. And after playing with her, I realize that I want MORE. Though that may have to wait a bit, now at least I have a girl to pose with my models.

Yeah, that's what's making me uneasy. As I said, at the moment I'm rather satisfied with my tiny Shinki collection, but who knows, when (if?) the bike sisters get released that mindset might undergo a sudden change and before I know it I'll be living off ramen noodles again. Ha ha.halconfenix wrote:welcome to all new members!![]()

Re: New Member Introductions
I was always an eclectic collector. I only really have a few shinkis. I missed out on all the new girls as they were being released, because I wasn't interested enough to purchase them. That's one of my biggest regrets though. Although it can be fun hunting down deals on second hand sites. I think before this year I only had 3 shinkis, but I loved them. My interest in Busou Shinki came back when the anime started airing. I recently splurged and bought a few more on mandarake. My poor wallet.
I was a big fan of Microman, and it seems Busou Shinki are sort of a spiritual successor. I love the idea of 1:1 toys, and I especially love modular armour and the whole modern toy story feel the cartoon has.
I post a lot on /toy/. Actually I'm sort of a shut in and a NEET. So yeah...

hehe totally :3 Was so into angelic layers in high school. Owned the manga and dvds and reread them constantly. Huge part of it was me being a super Rayearth fan but something was incredibly charming about angelic layers in general. Remember thinking as a kid "if only these dolls could move and think for themselves.". All I can say is thank god Shinki werent arent when I was a kid. I was incredibly impulsive kid so I would of lost my mind collecting all of them.Adventwings wrote:Who here is also an Angelic Layer's fan? (Hahaha.)

*raises hand* We can blame Angelic Layer for me falling deeper and deeper into the bowels of anime fandom - and CLAMP fandom as well.Adventwings wrote:A grand welcome to you all! Alright, it's time to fess up. Who here is also an Angelic Layer's fan? (Hahaha.)
