...yeah, that's a pretty apt description. Like I mentioned in the Introduction thread, I go by "Heckfire" and, in addition to collecting toys, I'm also a (badly blocked) writer and cartoonist. I got a rather nice tax refund this year and, at my friend Roequ's behest, sank some of it into finally buying a few Busou Shinkis for my collection.
Amusingly enough, the first one arrived on Valentine's Day:
For those not familiar, she is a Ninja Model Mizuki Type 2. While not the flashiest or most accessory-heavy of the line, I'm still rather taken with her...particularly her battle mode:
Of course, I also discovered something particularly amusing about her: her hands are 100% compatible with the ridiculously oversized weapons that came with the 90s 3.75" G.I.Joe figures, right down to her index finger curling around this particular gun's trigger:
Even her fellow Valentine's Day arrival, Minerva, seems impressed:
In addition to the oni horns I tend to prefer on her, she also has a pair of "fox ears"...
...but she doesn't seem that taken with them.
On the whole, she was a sudden impulse buy that turned out surprisingly satisfying, and she seemed to be fairly content with the situation as well.
Of course, as the meme goes, one does not just purchase ONE Shinki figure...
