v2gundam (ryc03 from YT I suppose, sorry if I'm mistaken), can you say what did you use for the gold parts?

Wow. I usually hate rough paint jobs like that (talking about texture, not quality.) but it works REALLY well for the armor.

I use Game Workshop's Citadel Acrylic paint, but I think similar metallic acrylic paint for model would achieve similar effect too.Takashi wrote:v2gundam (ryc03 from YT I suppose, sorry if I'm mistaken), can you say what did you use for the gold parts?
I started with a coat of black as a base colour because the plastic don't accept gold paint right away.
Then a coat of Tin Bitz, a copper colour that serves as the base colour (any area the gold colour miss, like the panel lines and deep grooves will be in that colour)
After that is a few thin dry coats of Shining gold, a very orange colour gold. This colour is not very good at covering the colour below, so it's better to keep the paint dry and thin (this is where the rough looking texture came from)
the last layer is a dry coat Shining Gold, a very pale gold. it's main purpose is picking out the sticking out part of the model making them brighter.

Re: gunpla and other model kits!
This time, a Modified SD Gundam. Ryuhou Gundam is originally from the Gaiden line, which features old SD kits with retooled parts. I modified it by taknig all the armor and modifiy it until it fit a standard SD Sangokuden model kit body:
