Wave 15 - Centaur and Tentacles

I shouldn't say this but January can't come soon enough. I'm really looking forward to Mary. I preordered both, but Mary at the moment is a clear fave.

Can we get an exact date? I don't want to wake my family up on New Years by screaming "PROXIMA AND MARYCELES ARE SHIPPING! YEEEEHAW!!!"

amiami, hlj, and otacute list the release date as the end of January 2011. Wikipedia lists it as 01/27/2011 (but it's from wikipedia so...)

EDIT: The release date is confirmed on Konami's site as 01/27/11.

Seems how I haven't seen the one in person, it's hard to give a fair comparison. However I do like Sharatang very much.

Depends what you want: Mecha-Ika-Musume gothic lolita with a sadistic streak, or violin gothic mistress with Inspector Gadget-esque instrument-limbs.

I view Mary as a sweet girl who's upset about everybody getting the wrong idea about her simply because she's a "Tentacle type." Except when she's drunk of course.

I doubt she'd be able to do anything, considering that Shinkis are robots without the necessary anatomy...Although, I do think she'd seduce someone if she thought she could get away with it.

Sharatang is getting harder to find - but I really think you should just look to which of the two girls you like the most. I was almost won over by Sharatang, but to me Celes and Proxima are so different, I had to have them. I like my shinkis to be a little more sturdy, Sharatang seemed so fragile to me.

Of course, if I ever spot her cheap, I'll probably buy her :x This will never happen of course!

[+] Looks cool
[+] Lights up
[+] Cleverly incorporates her stand into her full armor mode
[-] Lacks weapons; has very few compared to other full sized shinki sets
[-] Armor bits do not allow for lots of customization
[-] Doesn't come with batteries
[-] Clear plastic keys for the lights (for both Sharatang & Baby Razz) have been reported to be very fragile/can break easily
[-] Expensive for what you get (Shinki figure with few weapons but you get lights)

Final thoughts: Compared to Baby Razz, Sharatang really feels like it is missing something. BR gets an armor mode that changes
into a drum set but Sharatang gets an armor mode that turns into a fancy "chair". I feel that more went into designing the light gimmicks
than into designing the armor components and their inter-changability among other Busou Shinki sets. Of the two sets, I really prefer
the Sharatang shinki figure over Baby Razz but BR's armor is executed much better. I give her a solid "B" though. She is not a horrible figure
but there is room for improvement.

Mary Celes
[+] Unique way of incorporating her "tentacles" into her dress
[+] Has lots of personality
[+] Nice color scheme
[-] Weird official modes
[-] Not released yet; no user experience/feedback
[-] Unknown how inter-changable her parts will be
[-] Unknown how many accessories will be included in set

Final thoughts: Since I am going by pictures for this figure, I personally feel that her wave mate, Proxima, will be the more popular of
the two. Unless she comes with lots of cool weapons/customization parts. Then she could end up being a "sleeper hit" and might be hard to find.
I think she has lots of potential but we really won't know until after she is released.

She does apparently have a panzerfaust.

And lack of anatomy doesn't prevent hardcore groping. And if she's drunk, I don't think she'd be thinking about whether things could go anywhere.
