Might have been better if you put a layer of primer over her hair, first.

...Primer is something I need. >>; I have some, but it's spray, and I haven't had good history of spraypaint on shinki hair.
But I'm doing well without, so far. ...provided I thin the paint first.

Most primer is spray. You just want to get actual primer made for minis and models as it's thinner 'grained'. Also need to learn the proper spraying technique.

By "bad luck" I mean "it never dries".

Finished Kit's hair last night. Took a nice photo today!
She'll be getting a skintone blank... soonish.

To quote a popular meme 'you're doing it wrong'. Actual spray primer should dry relatively quickly, especially those meant for models and minis. Was it actual primer or just spray paint? They're got slightly different formulas.
If it's actual primer and not dry enough for painting after an hour or so, you're spraying it on WAY to thick.

Nah, just paint, not primer. =\
...actually, thinking about it, I think I'd only used enamel paints, not spraypaints on Shinki hair. It was the enamels that never dried.
