Two days ago I loaded up Busou Shinki Battle Rondo, the online game that most of my readers should know by now one way or another, only to read a rather unfortunate announcement. On August 31st of this year, Konami will terminate the online services of Battle Rondo and Diorama Studio. It looks as though they plan to milk a little more money out of us before they leave as they’re going to be doing a sale for the last month or something like that. This news came down on me pretty hard, as I’ve enjoyed this game as much as I’ve enjoyed the figures that came with codes for it. I’ve got just under 3 months left before the game I’ve come to love will be shut down indefinitely. This would explain why a bunch of newer Busou Shinki figures haven’t come with codes. What really bugs me though, is how quickly they’re shutting down, having only recently put four more girls into the game that had been waiting for a very long time. My only guess to why they’re shutting down is that they’re planning to focus exclusively on the PSP games. This Summer the Busou Shinki Battle Masters Mk2 comes out, and who knows what future projects may come. Either way, I’m pretty bummed out about this, but I plan to make the most out of Battle Rondo and Diorama Studio’s last days, such as recording videos of every single girl and getting some good battles in before it’s too late.
