Wave 12 - Violin and Guitar

interesting.... shara doesnt have musical instruments perse... she has instead "musical limbs"

she doesnt have a violin that attaches to her arm.... she has an arm violin instead, its kinda funny how the hand connects to the violin arm...

same goes for the cello... which is actually a cello leg!

i though at first that shara had "independent" instruments like razz has.... but this is a totally different approach!

well technically baby razz's guitars both conect to her skirt and head gear even via wire, it does add an appeal to sharatang though, if her violin arm can be rubbed with the blade of her sword, id suppose the same could be done with other swords so the string on the violin and cello kinda double as a shield, in a way, plus it adds a drak aspect to her along with the red and black in that she cuts herself, even though it doesnt hurt her, shes also got poetry on her back, shes just kinda emo if you ask me, but shes not a sad emo, she appears fairly happy

I wouldn't call Sharatan emo...

I think Razz is very outgoing and aggressive, whereas Sharatan is the calmer, more passive type.

I think Sharatan has the violin for an arm because the designers thought it would be too hard to make a violin that actually looks good when held/played. After all, a violin kinda rests on the shoulder under the chin. That's hard to replicate in a poseable figure. By making her arm into a violin the figure will look good playing it without the hassle of a loose accessory.

And I wouldn't say she's cutting herself, she's just playing on the violin that happens to have replaced her arm.

But you know, everyone can come up with their own personality for Shinkis. It's whatever you like best.

hmm, well i just said it was an emo escence, i do agree she seems passive and shy, almost like ianeira only shy, although i realy do think the instruments double as a shield, they can with stand the sword she uses to play them so they probably can with stand other weapons slammed agaist them as well

I definitely don't think she's so much emo as she is a refined young lady, to contrast how outgoing Razz comes across as.

There is a very big difference between emo and gothic. Both are fascinated with darkness and brooding, yes; and tend to run towards self-inflicted pain. I'll give you that. But gothic is restrained; aloof; impassive; it strives for ethereal and mysterious and implies a determination to carry on despite how awful and pointless the world is. Emo, on the other hand, is expressive, expansive, uncontrolled. It's short for "emotional" after all; and while the emotions being expressed are selfish and sad, emo is no less demonstrative than your stereotyped bubbly cheerleader.

Expressed in less flattering terms, goths are stuck-up snobs and emos are whiney little prats. Normal people's tendancy to conflate the two annoys me.

I would say Sharatang comes across as much more goth than emo.

Maybe in costume and looks, but her personality (if BR is being taken into consideration) is about as far from emo OR goth as you can get.

Why is it that lately the Illegal Minds have been better voices for the characters than the defaults? Altlene and Sharatang both sound much more like I imagined as Illegals. That cute voice doesn't match the refined look of her figure. It's the same with Altlene being all moe, when she looks so serious.

Sadly my two are in customs so I'll be waiting a while yet. =/

I received my set from AmiAmi today. I wasn't sure about Baby Razz, but finally seeing her in person she's cool. I'm glad that I ordered her.

And no, her headgear is not detachable.
