Armor Girls Project: Infinite Stratos (& Mobile Suit Girls)

For discussion of all the other girl+mecha lines that have cropped up since Shinki began: Frame Arms: Girls, Megami Device, Armor Girls Project, Desktop Army, etc. This includes kinda-sortas like Daibadi's Polynian and things like Strike Witches and Fumikane's original Mecha Musume.

Wing Girl preorders are up:

Hobby Search
AmiAmi
HLJ

Hobby Search actually seems to be cheapest for once. HLJ says order stop right now, but I think that may just be a placeholder page and they haven't updated the stock level just yet.

Also, Bandai slipped some news out quietly during the flood of wonfes stuff yesterday, via the Tamashii Nations twitter, and the website seems to be live now - they're producing figures based on a series of artwork that Mika Akitaka (same guy who designed the MS Girls) produced for Nyantype magazine, featuring a variety of popular anime heroines.

The first one seems to be Misaka Mikoto from Index/Railgun, based on this piece of art:

And just now, checking the futaba WF thread, someone had posted this:

Claiming it to be a prototype. Hopefully a very early one, given that it doesn't seem to have any joints.

Also, you can check out some more of the artwork here (WARNING: that particular page should be SFW, but the ads might not be - and the site as a whole is definitely has lots of NSFW content if you start clicking around randomly through the tags, although I think it's hidden by default).

Whew...better order your Wing Gumdam girls fast I you still want them, she's already sold out on HS too. :( Managed to order one for my brother from AmiAmi though! I bet the pre-orders will open again at some point on HLJ and HS but I can't be arsed to stalk her constantly to get her for a cheaper price.

4800 yen, huh... Yeah, that's not gonna happen. Darn you, tax barrier! :waffebunny:

So they're really making the MusuMecha designs for real? *Whistles* I await this one's arrival:

Bandai also has Hajime Katoki and his Composite ver.Ka creations, so there could be some interesting gimmicks to play around with. I wonder who will come out on top after the dust settles?

/me is now torn between Konami and Bandai.

Cecilia has been delayed to April, apparently to make some "improvements".

They provide some comparison pics, but rather unhelpfully they're in completely different poses, making actual comparisons harder than they should be.

Left is before, right is after:

Personally, I'm not entirely convinced that the changes are an overall improvement. Some stuff is definitely better (more painted detail, like the green lines on the legs), but they somehow seem to have made the face sculpt worse, which is kinda depressing as it wasn't even that amazing to begin with...

Yeah, looking at the pics, first thing comes to mind is the face sculpt. Really, you can't even compare this with Figma or MMS / Shinki or Revoltechs.

Looks like their next license is more or less confirmed:

(also there was a teaser shot of what looked like Yoshika's Shinden strikers in the latest round of hobby mag scans, in case that image doesn't make it obvious enough)

They also have a few snip bits of the new Yamato 2199 show which I am dying to see! So, this upcoming April 13. This is gonna be interesting. Maybe we will get some neuroi kits. Lol. Shirley is a strong possibility. I mean rabbit girls seem to sell a lot of. lol.
