Regarding Valona...

Hi guys!
Just got my Valona today from lightguard. One thing I noticed when I opened the shipping package was that Valona's body was miscolored, more specifically the parts where her skin shows. Since Konami used a dark body color and painted the skin color on top of it, the dark color still faintly shows through the skin tone. The color of her face and neck is fine though...
It's definitely not lightguard's fault since the figure is still brand new, but I'd like to ask the Valona owners... is this common?

My valona is the only one I've ever seen in person, the rest were just through internet images...

Mine's like that, and I picked her up from HLJ. I think they have funny paint matches or something - that particular skin colour would have to be coloured on quite thickly in order to show properly...and let's face it, they are mass produced, so things like breast plates etc haven't been paid complete attention to.
I know it detracts a little, but every time I see her saucy little grin, I forgive Konami for poor colour choices - her designer really hit a winner. I can safely say she's my third favourite of the entire series.

hmmm.... mine seems to be fine for the most part...
nothing too noticeable, unless you take a really good look and have a flashlight/be outside to really see a color difference on mine.

Since the shinki's are mostly pale in skin color, I recommend Testors Pale Flesh color. It looks awefully close to the shinki's skin colors.

Hey thanks guys for the responses!
Yeah, I agree with Pyaamon; it's hard to keep on blaming Konami once you look at Valona. IMO she really is one of the best shinki character designs; tsundere with pigtails is always a winning combination in my book.
@ Ahoybaby:
The skin color problem actually isn't so bad when you're indoors. It's just that the first time I looked a Valona was in my car the minute I got her from the post office.
@royalpain88
Thanks for the tip! I shall remember this color; once I have ample free time i'll probably recoat Valona's skin tones with new paint, save the face of course.

Might be a common 'flaw'. My Valona looks fine, skintone wise. I can see this being one of those little things they find acceptable when it comes to whatever quality control they do (When I used to buy Pullips there were great big lists of common problems for each type).
Maybe I should try taking her out into the sun and see if the color shows through then. x3

I guess I'm kind of relieved that it's not just my Valona that has the same issue... something that Konami can hopefully work on in the future waves.
It's really obvious out in the sun; but it's not that bad once you start getting attached to her LOL

I came up with an arbitrary 'solution' to this problem when I noticed that Werkstra's skin tones are closer to the paint on Valona's torso, than Valona's own parts that were molded in flesh tone. So I swapped their heads around.
