Recreating this kitbash/mod?

Hey guys,
I stumbled upon this blog and found an interesting modification on Straft Mk2:
http://hogeyama-pics.blogspot.com/2012/01/mk2.html
Clothing changes aside, I like how the shortened arms look on her. My question is, would shortening the arms be difficult like he did? I think I see the method from the photos but I thought I'd ask people with more experience in case if there's another kit/tool I'd need to do this.
I put the images in a imgur album for people that don't want to go on a Japanese site:

Thanks!
PS: Is there any chance of getting those Plastica MMS clothes any more? I know most of them came from other Garage Kits but I've seen a few stray pieces of clothing pop up on Y!J too...

It's all a simple kitbash, but to get those exact results you'd need some custom parts. Shortening the arms needs none, the key is making forearms out of extra connector bits.

Where's the best place to get the connector bits (and are they universal to MMS bodies)?

Those come with every Shinki. They are universal to the pegs and holes. The runner itself can be made into pegs.

Ah, ok. So I shouldn't need anything extra?

I meant that the connectors come with every Shinki.
These:

These other 2 sets, however, are customs, and may be hard to find, specially for foreigners:

Note that the screws have also been replaced by custom ones.

Hm, did he use those other two sets on the actual Shinki though? He pictured them with the arms but I don't see anything unusual on them...

The custom parts are just cosmetic. One covers the holes, the other gives better appearance to a joint.

Wing to arm joint cover:

Twin circle II, but it's out of stock. Look elsewhere, but it should be widely available on the market.
Port covers here:

Scroll down to parabellum D haute couture
Plastica Blue Line kit for clothing:

Screws are Zigen screws that someone here bought a ton of last Wonderfestival to resell, but is probably sold out by now.
As far as attaching the clawed hands to the MMS body itself, I believe those only come with older MMS1 shinkis. I don't think I've seen them with 3rds, but I'm not too sure of that because all of my crank parts are mixed up in a bin.
Getting these parts isn't going to be too difficult. You're going to have to grab a middleman for the plastica goods by Masaki Apsy himself, but the parabellum parts are going to cost you 10 dollars maximum depending on your middleman and what shipping method you take. Blue Line goes for exorbitantly high, however, so grab a plastica set of clothing if it shows up on mandarake or yja instead.
There was a parts-listing right in the blog post... Google is your friend.

Ah wow, thanks for the info guys. I'm still new to this--so the port covers cover the area where two joints connect?
And @Stanisburgh - oh huh, so I guess the clawed arms don't come with Strarf. (I don't suppose you'd have any extra parts for sale?) Do you think I could get the blue line kit for under 10k, btw?
