Are Busou Shinki Screws rustproof?

Yes, my question is:

Are Busou Shinki Screws rustproof?, particularly the ones in the joints.

I'm sort of planning to wash off my shinkis but haven't done so due to my fear of the girls' screws getting rusty.

Thanks for any information or opinion.

Well the only screws are holding the thighs and torso together. The rest are rivets/other things.

I don't know about the older black screws. But I can say for certain that no. The screws, the actual screws, silver ones used in MMS3rd shinki, are not rust-proof. The screws in my first Partio's body were rusted I don't know how long and I don't know why.

As an add-on to the original question, what kind of screws do MMs3rd and MMS1st Shinkis use?

-Xehn: I see, guess I shouldn't dunk the MMS bodies in water then. Though I assume the girl's heads could be washed much like any other anime figure.

Oh yes, easily. I've had to wash some of mine mine because of dust and some issue making a few of the older ones have tacky hair, like the paint hadn't quite dried.

The rivets might be made of aluminum, but not sure. My MMS1st shinkis' black screws haven't rusted yet, but who knows for how long... For cleaning better to totally disassemble the bodies, meaning remove all the screws. As for the joints with the rivets, I do believe they are rust-proof, cause sweaty fingers haven't done anything to them.

I do have a question... what might be the best stuff to use in washing/cleaning shinki faces? Some of mine have minute smudges in them, but don't know where they came from...

I just took mine and scrubbed 'em down with hot soapy water. Made sure to rinse and dry them thoroughly after.

I would suggest finger wipes, being carefull not to remove the paint, to clean shinki, but I have never had to deal with this issue, my girls are flawless, they all sit pretty in my room content and happy, the outside is just so dirty, and I suggest swiffer clothes to remove dust, but I still suggest caution not to accidentally scratch them while cleaning them, as the paint seems fairly easy to scratch off on some

Use water and a micro fiber towel so you won't scratch the paint. I used this technique on a Takara Master Piece Dragon Kaiser (plastic, metal and tons of chrome). It did a great job cleaning, didn't scratch the paint, nor rust any of the screws and metal pieces. Tons easier than taking the figure apart and loosing parts. Target carries them in the automotive section and are pretty inexpensive.
