Are the 2 releases the same Shinkis (Arnval Mk.2 & Strarf Mk.2), just repackaged? It kind of looks that way...

It's the same situation as Wave 1 Arnval/Strarf and Arnval Tranche 2/Strarf Bis. They're the original colors, but include the new parts from from the repaints, as well as yet more new parts.

Is there any list with that relation between releases? It would suck to hunt down an older kit just to find out there's a newer one that's the exactly the same but with extra parts.
Is it a safe bet just to get the latest release of a character or are there cases where the newer version has been nerfed?
