Question

Post by Mini-Bot » Tue Jan 19, 2010 10:45 pm

Anyone else have a problem with the Shinki’s chest region? Like it getting so lose it makes their upper body flop back and forth, and unable to stand straight up? I’m pretty careful with my toys, but some of my girls are having this rather annoying issue, and I wanted to know what I could do to fix it.

Thanks in advance. :D

My Graffias was like that right out of the box. I haven't tried to fix it yet, but isn't the torso on a ball joint? If that's the case, just unscrew the upper back and put down a layer of super glue or plastic cement on the ball. Repeat until the torso joint is effectively de-flopped!

Wait... now that I think about it... isn't the torso on a double ball joint? Well, best case scenario is that you only have to tighten up one of the balls... In the worst case, it'll be both of them. But you should be handy with a screwdriver, right? Good luck!

I'd avoid plastic cement. It works by dissolving the plastic and welding it together. At least the kinds I've been involved with.

However, brush-on superglue, or clear nail polishes, are your best bet for tightening balljoints by adding a layer of material to the ball itself. Due to the way you'd have to get to the joint, I'd not recommend tubes of superglue for this...

This has sadly happened to my Howling, causing her to either lean back/puff out her chest, or slouch forwards... Or dangle when armoured, since her armour plugs into the stand by the chest armour... Sadly, I only have tube super glue at the moment, so I haven't attempted to fix it... it does just seem to be the top half though, luckily.

If you've an old paint brush, that could work just fine, you'll just lose the brush when you're done.
