My First Shinki!

It's now official, after much thought, consideration and hesitation, I'm now the owner of my first Shinki! I got them last week, but didn't have much time to take pics, but now I took some and here they are!

The Boxes (yeah they're empty, took them out last week to test them out!)

Free at last, and found a gun too!

Don't worry Dolphin, you'll get a body soon!

And you better get it quick!

As you can see, I got Knight Xiphos and the EX weapon set Waffle Dolphin. I'm pretty amazed by the figure itself, I've always wanted to get some nice articulated figure that isn't 12 inch (wich is too big for my taste), and those Shinki are quite amazing in that department! They're also quite customizable wich is another big plus for them! I don't know how you guys keep all your extra parts, but with a bunch of Shinki some of you have it must be one hell on a box-o-piece!

And I don't know if it's my figure, but I found the figure a bit flimsy while manipulating, especially with extra armor part. Arms can easily fall off while handling them, and so is the head and the boobs plate. Nothing that concern me much since it's only while posing them that it can happen, but just wondered if it's the norm.

Overall I'm quite satified with this and will definitly get more! Depending how much time I have this week to look at them, I might very well order this week! And I should get a black naked body somewhere too.

An eight-and-a-half by eleven inch sheet of printer paper folded into amagazine box holds both my shinki, with room left over for the one coming in the mail and the two or three I still want to buy. I know some fancier folds, but they have creases and such the small parts might get lost in.

i picked up a nice sized tackle box from walmart, works wonders with all the small compartments.

i have noticed that a lot with my older shinkis, i assume it was just the production standards at the time.

Lots of fiddly bits, with some big chunks of plastic held in by friction. Yeah, it happens. :) The Blade Shinkis especially have a bad habit of having their heads fall off when posing them. Most of the joint issues can be solved by putting a thin layer of clear nail polish enamel over em to help tighten the joint.

Nothing is bad enough to start using nail polish on them :P But I'll remember it if they ever get too loose. I also ordered something to store my Shinki (the figure), and I could probably fit some pieces in there too, at least the most usefull part, I'll see how it turns out. I'll probaly use some kind of container for the rest.

I also orderd Arnval Tranche 2 and Strarf Bis tonight, could'nt resist anymore now that I've tried one

People's have mentioned tackle boxes. I use some tool/part storage boxes I picked up at the hardware stores. Comes with compartments with little dividers you can set with some extra long ones I use for weapons. I'll have to take pictures at some point.

Not nail polish. Nail varnish. Goes over the polish to keep it from wearing off. It dries clear.

I use Teflon Tape. It works OK, not as well as i would like, but it does help. And there's pretty much no way I am aware of that it could damage them, which is my primary concern.

Congrats on your first step into the abyss.

As for the fally-aparty, I find that different shinkis have different tightnesses on their body parts. When you have multiple, you can actually mix and match limbs to get the ones with the best fit. If you're lucky, you can improve the fit of all of your shinkis easily. Fer example, my Eukrante's arms never fall off. My strarf, however, can sometimes lose an arm if you look at her wrong. The most rediculous fit was my bright feather's extra head, which will immediately fall off if you turn her upside down. I had to use the superglue(you guys use nail varnish, I use superglue) trick on her to make it work.

And tackle boxes... that's such a good idea.

I'm cheap so I just put my spare parts into ziploc bags. Gallon size for the big parts, and snack or sandwich size for all the hands, washers, etc. I have them sorted and labelled by whichever shinki the parts are for.
