Yesterday was a good day.
Image

I wasn't really planning on adding more girls, but then I did always want a Strarf and the (relatively rare) opportunity presented itself, so...

Here she is, my little White Devil. I called her Mana.
Image

Time to meet the girls.
Image

Having just been activated, Mana got a little overwhelmed by the reception at first...
Image

...but looks like everything went well in the end. (At least nobody started pointing swords at anyone from the get go. Gotta love Lavina's more stable personality.)
Image

P: "Welcome. My name is Patricia."
M: "Thank you. I am called Mana. I look forward to working with you, Patricia...-senpai? Or shall I address you as Patricia-oneesama?"
G: "Hey, she's my sister, that's how I call her!"
K: "Have you ever called her in that manner?"
G: "............"
Image

Getting to know each other better. Old "furniture" definitely needs an upgrade, space-wise at least.
Image

Greta finally managed to squeeze in.
Image

Catching a movie together...
Image

Time to call it a day and recharge. Luckily I had a spare cradle lying around.
Image

I'm going to give Mana a day or two to settle in and then we'll check out her armor. To be continued.

Mana is a Strarf. It's only a matter of time before trouble starts.

Time to try on the armor.

Mana herself is a little surprised by the sheer number of parts:
Image

"Master, I am ready to face the enemies!"
"Don't you want to put the rest of it on first?"
Image

"Here, all done."
"I have a feeling that we are forgetting something."
"Right. Your wings."
Image

"And my weapons?"
Image

Mana in full armor, looking rather impressive.
Image

And here's her Full Arms Package flight configuration.
"Master, permission to lift off?"
"Hmm, maybe next time?"
Image

"Well, I guess this is it."
"Is there no other configuration I can use?"
"Actually, there is one more..."
Image

"This is probably the closest thing to a nekomini a Strarf can have..."
"Master, what it this "nekomimi" you speak of?"
"Uh, never mind."
Image

"Here you go, this works for both short and long range."
Image

"But what of my sword?"
"Well, you don't actually need it in this configuration. Pile Bunkers should do the trick."
"But what if..."
Image

"Well, if you insist."
Image

"I guess now we tried it all... Oh yeah, there's one more weapon we can add. Want to try it?"
"Another weapon?"
Image

"I was not aware of this possibility. It is indeed formidable."
Image

Back to her regular compact form.
"I also wish to inspect my support fighter craft if I may."
"All right, give me a minute."
Image

Greta is curious too.
G: "Hey, can you ride it?"
M: "It is designed to be unmanned, I operate it remotely. I suppose someone of smaller stature could ride on top of it."
G: "Can I ride it?"
Image

M: "So, how is it?"
G: "Sorry, can't talk now, too busy trying not to fall off."
P: "Maybe you should get off it before you hurt yourself?"

K: "Yukihana, do you think we can mount our targets on it?"
Y: "We can ask Mana, but I doubt she is going to like that idea."
Image

"Master, do you truly have no enemies for me to fight?"
"Nope, no enemies. You're welcome to train with Kureha and Yuki though."
"In that case I will endeavor to maintain my fighting abilities at the highest level until such time as you provide an enemy for me."
Strarfs will be Strarfs...

Mana has been settling in pretty well all things considered. She did ask me not to put one of her swords in storage, so she can have it with her at all times (something to do with Strarf's honor).

I made her a (somewhat oversized) uchiko ball to clean the blade with:
Image

On March 15 we celebrated Mana's birthday/release anniversary. Unfortunately I was unable to find a yukata for her in time, so I had to improvise.

Mana and her birthday present.
Image

Earlier she mentioned something about missing her revolver (it was too big for her regular hands) and that gave me an idea.
Image

"I wish to test it."
You can tell who else wishes the same thing.
Image

Good thing they have a place for that now.
Image

Image

As expected.
Image

I think Mana would make a good instructor.
Image

Here we go...
Image

Image

Mana tried to warn Kureha about properly supporting a large-caliber weapon, but...
Image

Oh well.
Image

Learning from her sister's mistakes:
Image

Image

"Master, should I be doing this too?"
"Only if you want to."
"I suppose it doesn't hurt to try..."
Image

Image

Image

Image

Impressive.
Image

"Master, may I have more ammunition?"
Image

Suffice it so say, it was a very "Strarf-like" birthday party.

What's a birthday without some fireworks? (lol)

Is that die cast metal, by the way?

It does look like that, doesn't it? ;)
Shikaze wrote:Kotobukya weapon with metal paint,IIRC.
Yep. It's from http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYMW-24, modded slightly (I added a trigger and sanded the grip down a bit), painted Tamiya Gunmetal (with added future for durability) and the grip is topcoated with future so that nobody gets black paint transfer on their little hands :) .
