That'd change nothing. Inflation and rareness doesn't work like that.
New stuff, like the anime series, may have impact on that, but not when stuff is discontinued.

I see. I just said it because back then there's something that being discontinued, the price goes up like insane (forgot what it is though. Been a long time).

Just hope it won't happen anytime soon.

Take for example Saint Cloth Myth. Stuff sells out in minutes. Lost Canvas was being a huge success. They release 2 Lost Canvas characters just when the anime is cancelled. Both figures fail at sales, while others still sell well.

Hiya!

Figured I'd sign up after I got my first shinki (Vervietta in case your wondering). Busou Shinki combines two of my favorite genre's moe and Mecha so naturally. . . Anyways I am new to the Shinki world ... I've known about them for a little while(since Moon Angel) and after playing Battle Masters mk2 decided I should get in on the figures before it is completely too late(or you need to be a trillionare to purchase one).

Vervietta is not only my First Shinki but also my first "japanese figure" I look forward to adding to my newly started collection. . . so continues the hunt for that illusive Oorbellen Lunaria.

Hello all :3 Names Ren [/wave]~

I figure I would give a introduction, its a bit longwinded so bear with me.

I always been into anime subculture sense I was a kid, quickly becomes a prominent figure in California Convention culture. Through myself growing up in anime conventions I soon became incredibly addicted to Replica. At first replica were incredibly rare, only 2-3 decent resin importers. But soon the figures import market blew up and my addiction was endlessly fed.

Fast forward 10 years, Now a old otaku and veteran collector. I find my addiction to figures to be greatly diminished. To the point where I could wander around conventions all day and not see a single figure I want to buy. But something struck my eye, the shinki boxes of Maochao and Arnval. At the time I had no idea what Shinki were but the box just lept out at me. But me being a jaded collector, I told myself "its to big of a risk to buy a sealed figures without seeing what it looks like". So I walked away, checking occasionally to see if they drop the price on it but after a day or two, someone else bought both of them.

Six months later, the Busou Shinki is released. I choose to ignore it at first sense I wasnt to happy with how IS turned out. I eventually download a episode out of boredom. Suddenly I am overcome with emotion. This is partly due to me going incredibly addicted to Angelic Layers for most of highschool. So this anime feels almost made for me. I marathoned all the episodes that were out at the time (4 I think) staying up till 4am that night with class in two hours.

While watching something seemed oddly familiar. Those two figures I let escaped been nagging me ever sense the convention. I first labeled this as me being paranoid, wishful thinking. I spent months trying to figure what those mysterious figures were with no luck, they wouldnt just appear before me in a anime. Then Maochao makes her appearance in the anime, and I suddenly realize they are indeed connected. I spend the next two hours researching everything Shinki. My sudden addiction seemed almost endlist. This goes without saying that at that moment I blew a huge chunk of money ordering my very own Shinki as well :3

Quickly running out of episodes and things to research I become almost starved of my beloved Shinki :x So I rushed over to Little Tokyo and picked up of copy of Masters Mk2, luckily that been holding off my hunger for now. Ironically as typing this longwinded introduction my very first shinki came in the mail. Scary enough, out of the 9 shinki I did order it was Maochao to come in the mail (Destiny perhaps :3)


Anyways I do apologies for over dramatic and long winded introduction. I hope to make friends with many of you on this board [/hugs]

Hi. I've recently taken the somewhat costly plunge into the world of shinkis due to well, always thinking they were cool before, and a wife that now thinks they are cool after seeing the new anime...

She has already started working on making elaborate clothing for the one I have (Juvizy) and I am tempted to start making custom parts and or "homes" for these as well. More of a labor of creativity, but also something for the already awesome community. (don't worry, I'm not spamming on trying to sell people stuff. I will showcase creations of stuff as they are completed) I have always been into action figure customization, and I think making 1 off pieces that work with the modular system will be fun and a challenge. I also want to make detailed dojos and dollhouses (ug I hate that word..) for people that want realistic backgrounds to scale..

Anyways, I have Juvizy, which I wasn't thrilled about at first when I ordered her on Ebay (she was the cheapest at the time) but I've grown fond of her over the past few days.. I'm still learning all the body types and interchangeability, so bare with me if I ask stupid questions. I know about the bust piece, and overall size, but I still don't get why shinkis like asuka look almost monstrous compared to say,... altines. (I know she is a small, but it's almost a creepy comparison..

Anyways, thanks for letting me in your community, hopefully I can contribute something cool to help the hobby.

Btw, I'm on the hunt for extra parts, broken parts, heads, hair etc... that people don't need and would part with. (again not spamming, just letting you guys know if you have something you aren't gonna use and I'll pay reasonable money for it..) I wish the "naked" mms bodies were more easy to come by, but maybe with the resurgence of popularity, Konami will start doing more re-releases of popular characters from the new show... My wife would be in love with the most expensive ones.. ..
