Clear coat is available as a paint on or a spray on.
Gentlemen do prefer blonde's.

I don't think you botched the detail that bad. Sure, it looks a bit dark, but nothing an appropriate cleaner won't remove. Too bad you don't have your previous two anymore, I would love to see the three of them together.
