Well, that death talk is maybe a bit too serious, I'm also depressed as hell about BR, but I hope they come up with some nice farewell-story. You know, like, in order to prevent shinkis being used to develop real, dangerous battle robots they decide it's best when they go into hiding, migrating onto a small island somewhere, where they have fun (battling) with each other, but keeping one eye on the outside world, silently watching over their owners/mankind ... (cue "Dark Knight" soundtrack)
Something along those lines would be nice. Well, if they don't and they dare to just pull the plug, this is the reality *I* choose.

But as you said, at least DS would be so super-easy to use as a standalone, there must be a way to persuade them to do this ...

I was just working on a plan involving a hidden cam, a beautiful sexy female member of busoushinkiworld.com and a married Konami CEO, but a petition sounds nice, too. Does anyone here know enough Japanese to set up a respectful letter? Or we do it in English and ask some "people on the internet" to translate it. Maybe a concerted effort in order not to spam their mail inboxes will be regarded with more appreciation ...

Or someone needs to travel to Japan and marry one of the shinkis and try to legally keep Konami from shutting down the servers.

I don't know if that you should give you hope because it says in the post that Konami has no plans to make any such offline modes for either BR or DS. Some guy sent an e-mail to Konami and that was the response he got.

seriously... we should sign a petition or something.... to make konami give us a standalone software or at least to free the source code now that they dont plan to use/update it anymore....

still my point is: the japanese fans are also trying to do something about it.(lets join them somehow)

I'm not much of a help, but if there's anything that I can do then I'll try it. I'll be receiving Juvisy and Zydraya next July/August to begin
