Pygar's Shinki Comics

Post by Pygar » Mon Jul 27, 2015 7:54 pm

My first attempt at a webcomic. (I really did spend all morning hacking those worthless hedges out of the ground...I made the comic while I was lying on the couch recovering...)

Image

Evelyn is really quite the tsundere. Michelle is sweet as always...

Michelle looked really cute in the panel where she said "Ooooooh <3" in response to your telling the girls about cutting out the hedges to make room for planting flowers and such. :schmetterling:

Not bad for the first time making a webcomic with your Shinki. Hope to see more!

Thanks, I like that scene too. I also had to laugh at Evelyn's "you got lost in the woods again, didn't you?" (If you don't think your own stuff is funny, how will anybody else?)

I have a strip in mind for Belinda (my Artille) and Valerie (my Arnval) as soon as I can get the shots for it, hopefully in the next couple days.

Belinda (my Artille) is shaping up to have an...interesting...personality. Valerie (my Arnval) seems like the big-sister type, and very domestic. I look forward to putting them in future strips.

For today's session I made a Shinki photography stage from a sheet of foamcore. I'm pretty happy with it, although it definitely needs some props to dress it up a bit. I was also trying my camera in Aperture Priority mode, which seems to give more control of depth of field, and auto-bracketing, because what I know about photography can be written on one side of a 3x5 card.

I hadn't thought of it, but she does have a sort of Mary Poppins vibe going.

Happiness is a Warm Gun

Belinda enjoying target practice a little too much...

Image

Playing with drop shadows on the borders and voice balloons on this strip. I do the lettering and voice balloons in Inkscape, and for whatever reason the drop shadows don't want to export except as a bitmap. I hope they fix that on the next release.

*Chuckles* Yeah, sounds like someone enjoys target practice all too much...

This is definitely shaping up to be a fun comic to read. I can already tell Belinda (Artille) and Valerie (Arnval) are going to be interesting characters. :schmetterling:

Thanks, I had fun with this one. I think Belinda and Valerie's interactions have a lot of potential for humor...

I can never tell whether Evelyn is joking or not.

I'm working on Shinki Photo Stage v2.0. I'm going to try to paint the floor to look like it's covered with tatami mats and paint the back wall a light tan. I'm hoping it will add a little more color and look more natural.
