Re: Alex's Shinkis & Customs New Photos 4/20/14

Thanks! :schmetterling: I'm still amazed at how much life and emotion these toys can express even with my meager posing abilities. Also, I hope people have been reading my remarks in the last panel as playfu...

Re: Alex's Shinkis & Customs

Thank you for the thread link! That's going to be really helpful in the future! Yeah, I imagine getting CAD is an investment. Fortunately my husband and I have been talking about modeling for a while. It's always been a goal of his to begin 3D modeling so he can actually start creating his own toys...

Also, very cute pictures. and you m...

Re: Alex's Shinkis & Customs

Those revolvers look great! It's really impressive that these days you can create a 3D model, send it to a company, and they can literally print out your model. I love technology these days! I'm curious though, how hard it is to work in CAD? I've never done any sort of 3D modeling before, however I...

Re: Shinki Creation info wanted

i've never actually done molds before, but i would guess that if you use an effective release compound then you should be alright, the release should keep the mold from sticking to the paint.
good luck!

Re: Alex's Shinkis & Customs

so sadly not a lot of extra time this past week, but i might be able to finish up the last few features on the revolver model this weekend, then i'll open them up for sale if anyone's interested. while we're on the subject, i painted the second pair of revolvers... well when i say "painted" i mean "...

Re: Maybe it's just me

the pic of your zel makes the difference obvious, but i think that is mostly just the lighting exaggerating the difference. although i can see a very slight difference in the flesh shinki pic you posted, i would chalk the difference up to the material used and the finish applied to it. although i do...

Re: Halconfenix Misc Artworks

so then they must calculate based on bounding box as well, since as a hollow model it shouldn't be very much plastic. I would suggest breaking it into smaller pieces and trying to keep things as small as possible, you could try just cutting off the seat back & armrests and doing it in two separate p...
